A diagnostic marker of peripheral vascular diseases

چکیده
In this work, we report the results of a project, devoted to the development of a real time analysis for noninvasive monitoring of pulse transit time values on people affected by peripheral vascular diseases. Pulse transit time was computed as the time difference between every R-peak of the electrocardiographic signal and the following photopletysmographic peak. Both types of signals were acquired from 12 volunteers and real time signal analysis was performed in LabVIEW. Pathological conditions were simulated on every individual by means of an external cuff pressure applied on their arm. As expected, a PTT increase for increasing values of applied pressure was observed for all the volunteers. The proposed real time analysis could be suggested as a new, non-invasive optical method for real time monitoring of pulse transit time on patients affected by peripheral vascular diseases. Keywords—Photopletysmograpy; Pulse Transit Time; Non invasive monitoring.

A Comparative Immunohistochemical Study of CD105 Expression in Peripheral and Central Giant Cell Granuloma
Introduction: Despite similar histopathological features, peripheral giant cell granuloma (PGCG) and central giant cell granuloma (CGCG) differ in their biological behavior. PGCG and CGCG are hemorrhagic/vascular lesions, clinically and microscopically. Angiogenesis is necessary for the growth and development of lesions and affects their clinical behavior. CD105 is a useful vascular marker for...
متن کاملInsights into the Relationship Between Hypertension and Albuminuria
Albuminuria is the increased excretion of the serum protein albumin into the urine. Albuminuria is classically seen as an important diagnostic marker of declining kidney function, however, more recently albuminuria has also been implicated as a marker for cardiovascular and peripheral vascular disease indicating an important link between processes governing both cardiovascular and renal functio...

Background: The appendix is considered as part of the gut-associated lymphoid tissue; however, lymphocyte subsets in this tissue are not fully defined. Objective: To investigate and compare the function and phenotype of lymphocyte subsets in peripheral blood and appendix of patients with normal and inflamed appendix tissues. Methods: Peripheral blood samples and appendiceal mononuclear cells we...
متن کاملDiagnostic Value of Serum Levels of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor as a Marker of Tubal Pregnancy
Background and purpose: Tubal pregnancy is a life threatening condition that not only causes mortality but also reduces fertility by less than 50%. In many patients, the level of βhCG does not reach detection threshold, and for definite diagnosis, long-term follow-up considering βhCG titration and transvaginal ultrasonography are needed which could lead to delay in diagnosis and treatment. The ...

Fluoresing photography has become a prominent branch in opthalmology. During the last few years, it gives us dynamic infor-of circulation of the EYE and its pathologieal disorders.By passing the fluoresein through the retinal and choroidal vessels we are able to record the different typesand stages of disease which these are not exactly diagno-sed by ophthalmoscopy and founds photography.By flu...
